October 26, 2014: Dr. Flippenstein's Bumper Bash

Wow, thank you so much to everyone who made it out to our Halloween tournament at Scarlet City, that was amazing!

TJ Beyer took first, James Squires finished second, and David C. Lee won third. David was the only player in the whole tournament to complete an entire monster, but unfortunately was not able to bring it to life. Still, big kudos to David for that, very impressive!

Robin Lassonde finished fourth overall, and was our highest ranking woman player. Novice champion went to first-time tournament player Mark Bissell, who came all the way from Redwood City to join us! His son Peter took home a prize as well, for being the highest ranking kid. To my extreme delight, almost half our players showed up in costume, and they were all so good too. You all made it really difficult to choose winners for the best costume prize - so difficult, actually, that I had to outsource the decision. Congratulations to Megan Landers and Andy Donovan for their well deserved wins, you both looked incredible!

All our winners took home a candy basket and two passes to Playland Not at the Beach.

Huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible, especially our amazing hosts Jen St. Hilaire and Susanna Handow of Scarlet City, and of course our operator TJ Beyer for putting all these wonderful machines on location and keeping them in such nice shape! I hope this will be the first of many events at Scarlet City, it was a great place for a tournament. Thanks to Aram Cretan and Federation Brewing for providing the delicious beer, Sarah Michelle Donovan for helping out by bringing party games (even though they ended up mostly not getting played), and Jessica Rodgers for helping keep the chaos on the tournament table under control!
