September 26, 2015: Set Phasers to Flip Open Playoffs

OMG, what an awesome day it was at the Set Phasers to Flip playoffs yesterday, and you could not have asked for a more exciting finish! Scarlet City regular Mike Miller edged out SFPD's Per Schwarzenberger for the championship by less than 150,000 points on Star Trek. Third place went to Louise Wagensonner and Aaron Steele Nelson took fourth. We saw tons of amazing play from all four finalists all day long, congratulations to all on the well-earned wins!

Huge thanks to each and every one of 59 players who joined us over the past seven weeks at Scarlet City, you made this series an incredible success and exceeded my (already very high) expectations for fun! It has been beyond fantastic getting to spend my Fridays playing pinball with all of you. Especially exciting is all the awesome new pinheads I've gotten to meet - it was a delight playing with you and I hope to see you all at many future tournaments.

A few people of course deserve special thanks, particularly TJ Beyer, who provides the great lineup at Scarlet City and keeps all the games in such awesome shape and performed several tournament-saving fixes during the event yesterday and Andy Kuntz, who was an incredible tech at every single one of our Friday night tournaments (and did pretty well himself in the playoffs)! And of course, huge huge thanks to Jen and Susanna at Scarlet City, for hosting the series and bringing us such a lovely place to play pinball! Shout out also to Louise and Eric Wagensonner, who each stepped up to give me a little rest and run one of the qualifying tournaments, and who have been super helpful at all these events in general.
